Potential problems from partial Dev Tools installs

This has caused me problems in the past and only now have I figured it out. I like to be able to compile UNIX stuff but would like to only have to install that part of the Developer Tools, however it turns out that a couple of the UNIX libraries and header files are spread through "Developer tools software," BSD SDK, and as it turns out the Mac OS X SDK.

I don't have a lot of space left on my iBook, so I don't like having the extra stuff around. I had not installed the Mac OS X SDK before as I assumed that it was just Cocoa stuff or something, but it turns out critical stuff like /usr/include/sys/types.h was in it. Put another way ... always check which files are in the package you're installing (or not installing), but you have to go all the way through the license before you can see the files.

[Editor's note: I actually helped someone debug a very similar problem with the Dev Tools a while back. If you have the drive space, just install the whole thing ... if you don't have the drive space, you're probably going to need a bigger drive at some point in the near future!]
