The one of the many advantages of Keynote for creating presentations over Powerpoint is the ability to incorporate better vector graphics. However, Keynote does not have the power contained in Powerpoint for drawing custom lines and shapes.

To fill that gap, Omnigraffle may be the perfect tool. Omnigraffle images can be copy and pasted into a Keynote presentation directly, without degrading the Omnigraffle image. Although pasting it will generate only a single object, that is sufficient in the presentation.

The second major benefit of Omnigraffle is the palettes. It's easy to make you own custom palettes in the application, so there's no reason why you can't create a "presentation palette".

[Editor's note: The other nice thing about OmniGraffle is that transparency information comes across intact, allowing you to create some truly impressive presentation images. To take advantage of this, make sure you go into OmniGraffle's preferences, click the Export icon, and uncheck "Export with room around the graphics" and check "Transparent Background," otherwise you'll get an ugly white surround...]
