markcrocker mentioned that OS X 10.1.x (without Jaguar) came with ncftp and an upgrade to OS X 10.2.x (with Jaguar) would remove ncftp. I was unable to find the binary compiled for OS X that he was talking about in his post, but I had no problems compiling the newest ncftp source on my own after downloading and installing the OS X 10.2.x development tools from Apple's developer website.
Being a complete newbie to OS X and macs in general, this was a relatively easy task with some former UNIX/LINUX experience. It compiles the binaries to "ncftp 3.1.5 source dir/bin", so don't expect them to run right after typing ./configure && make && make install. Good luck all who like ncftp!
[Editor's note: I now consider the ncftp topic covered, between this post and the previous post ... if you want it, it appears easy to get and/or compile using the info in either post.]
