Forward non-POP webmail to any email account Apps
I've been frustrated for some time about not having POP access anymore on Yahoo! Mail, and having to manually forward any important mail I receive to my home system. The answer is a great app by Lou Forlini called Mail Forward.

MailForward allows multiple accounts, automated retrieval, can leave mail on the server, and forwards arrive w/ the original sender identified in the "From" header, so any sorting rules will still apply.

[Editor's note: I haven't tested this program, but it sounds very useful if you're one of those who uses the numerous web-only free email services.]

Same here! Been using it for a month or so and it works flawlessly, set it and forget it. It's part of my login items.

Mail Forward & YGM
Authored by: zeb on Dec 14, '02 05:00:41PM
Mail Forward works great for me too. Another program to watch is YGM (you've got mail) by Hadrien Cazale http://membres.lycos.fr/cazcaz YGM is a menu app that can manually and automatically check your POP accounts for new messages, preview and delete them. It doesn't support web based e-mail yet, but I think he might implement it in the near future. Once YGM supports Hotmail, Yahoo etc., I will use it in conjunction with Mail Forward to know when mail comes in and delete spam before it gets to my e-mail account that Mail Forward forwards to.

Mail Forward for OS 9 works great, but the OS X version consistently crashes on me after downloading just three or four emails. And, unfortunately, it's a bit overpriced considering it's a one-trick pony.

Or you could use YoSucker for free...
http://yosucker.sourceforge.net/
It requires you install a few perl modules... no real biggie. I wouldn't suggest it for the Terminal-weary though... It installed on my 10.1 box fine a few months ago...

This app is even better than the stated hint for one reason: Proxy Support to Mail!
I'm stuck behind an HTTP-only proxy server. I use YoSucker to download all my email from Yahoo to an mbox. It then brings Mail to the front. All I have to do is select the Inbox to see all the new messages. Originally, I couldn't use Mail at all with the proxy server. Now I can view, store, and auto-check using Mail with YoSucker. It's free! All hail the Perl scripters with too much time on their hands!

Jim

As I understand it, Jaguar no longer provides the ability to read unix mail via the Mail.app.

<u can access Pop3 within Mail Options>

Hello? Yeah, you can set your access to whatever you want, pal, but if Yahoo or hotmail or whatever address/info harvester you use, isn't set [i.e. collecting your cash] for POP3 access, your mail.app settings don't mean anything. Wake up, dude

Needs an SMTP server?
Authored by: johnstump on Dec 16, '02 03:18:54PM

All I have is web mail (yahoo), so where do I get an SMTP server as required by Mail Forward?

Free forwarding from within Yahoo! Mail
Authored by: GaelicWizard on Dec 16, '02 03:52:41PM

you don't need another program for yahoo to forward mail for free!

Yahoo! allows you to send notifications to a "Mobile Device". one of the options is to have the message emailed to your "Mobile Device". My "Mobile Device" happens to be mynamehere@hotmail.com. Just thought I'd let y'all know. JP

Frickin' brilliant!

I paid for Yahoo's premium service, which includes the ability to archive into Outlook Express compatible format. Does anyone know of a way to import these files (one per message) into Mail.app?
