Speed up Photoshop 7 batch actions Apps
I'm often batch processing files in Photoshop 7 and have found that Photoshop will process files faster if you click on the desktop after initiating the automated batch process.

While the Finder is the foreground app, Photoshop doesn't bother with screen redraws as it opens and processes files. This can be a real time saver for processing large numbers of files.

You should also select 'Accelerated' from the Playback Options in the Actions pallette.

Thanks for that tip, Vent. I\'m going to copy it on the Adobe Photoshop forum as it is a very good tip and I\'ve never run into it before.

This works great in Photoshop CS2 as well.

I suspect it's not only the redrawing of the image which slows it down, but the shear sluggishness of the interface (pallets and toolbars) - by not having Photoshop in the foreground they are not visible, thus don't need redrawing.
