Re-enable bookmarklets with Chimera Navigator Web Browsers
I use movabletype (a weblog app) and Backflip (which is a web-based bookmark keeper). Both of these use bookmarklets, but I couldn't use them anymore with Chimera Navigator. Now I discovered in the movabletype forums that this is due to the pop-up blocking enabling in the Chimera preferences. When I disabled pop-up blocking, both bookmarklets worked just fine. So, this seems to be a general solution for these kinds of problems.

Easy and evident maybe, but isn't that the solution that is always most hard to get?

[Editor's note: Backflip sounded interesting to me, but when I tried to check it out, it appears their site will be down for maintenance for most of the day...]

Privoxy

I use Privoxy to stop pop-ups and filter ads. The nice thing about Privoxy is that you can configure it. I set it to accept all my Nucleus bookmarklets. Another great thing about privoxy: you can set proxy settings for individual sites. Because all my university related search engines require a proxy to work, I was able to make those domains automatically use a proxy. Privoxy is a little hard to set up at first, but it is great. It has its own "bookmarklets" to turn it off and on if you ever need to.
