Eudora and accented characters Apps
When you receive messages containing accentuated characters with Eudora (5x) or Mail, your mail client may have problems decoding these accents, leaving you with almost unreadable mail.

The solution is to copy "Eudora Tables" into your "Eudora Folder" from an older Classic version of Eudora. Restart Eudora. Open a message and select Message -> Change -> Transliteration and select ISO -> Mac or IBM -> Mac (none seems universal for decoding). Accents will be properly decoded.

Do the same holding Shift, and you will have selected a default decoding table that should save you from decoding future individual messages. Thanks to Denis Gauthier for this tip.

I'm curious - what font do you use to view Eudora mail?

Hi I just tried your advice because messed up accents are one of my most annoying problems (I write/read mostly in English, but it happens that I have to write/read Italian).
The Transliteration option IS available to selection, both with incoming and outgoing mail, but nothing happens or change in the message...
I still have those little empty boxes or, worse, some Eastern Asian character that looks like Japanese or Chinese...?

I'm grateful for the advice, but...
please help: Mac Os X 10.1.4 , Eudora 5.2
