Share dictionaries between Word and Entourage

Howdy this is a followup (sort of) on the silly feature in word which turns *this* into this.

I was going back and forth tweaking my prefs in Entourage and Word, and trying to get them to match, and I discovered that by sharing the dictionary between Word and Entourage, you also by default share *most* of the auto correct preferences.

To set the Dictionary in Word you should:

  1. Open Word
  2. Create a new blank document
  3. On the bottom bar of the document window there's a little picture of a book with a red check on it.
  4. Right (control) click on this book and go to "preferences" to set the prefs for the dictionary
To set the default Dictionary in Entourage you should:
  1. go to menu Entourage -> General Prefs
  2. click on the "Spelling" tab
My machine always autocorrected UMass to Umass. I had to fix this by making an autocorrect exception, but I had to make it in both Word and Entourage. With a shared dictionary, that's no longer the case.
