This is a trick to merge calendars in iCal. Pick a calendar from the list in iCal, then export it to the desktop. Now drag the exported calendar file back into iCal, dropping it on the calendar name you want to merge it with. Now both calendars have merged into the latter.

Any way to get it without losing color coding?

Any way to get it without losing color coding?
When I merged, the "imported" Calendar assumed the color of the Calendar it was dropped on...
Don't really understand this
If I check the Calendar boxes of the two Calendars aren't they then merged in either one of the Calendars selected in the main window? Why do you need to export/import to see a merge of two calendars?
Check=Visible
Checking a Calendar in the Calendar Pane only makes the Calendar visible. (neat tip, BTW!)
Don't really understand this
If you are managing more than one calendar but want to publish only one, for example.
Merge Trick
Sorry about the color thing but this is an iCal problem; it does not support categories as specified in the IETF standard (http://www.mit.edu/afs/athena/project/calsch/). If it would support them, any event could be styled/ colored according to their category and titel.
Merge two iCal calendars into one new one
Would using this method be risking having duplicates?
Merge two iCal calendars into one new one
You shouldn't have duplicates if you delete the original calendar. Make sure you have the exported calendar in a safe place before deleting calendars from iCal. This worked for me. Try it, it works.
Merge two iCal calendars into one new one
For some time now, I have wanted to merge my home and Google calendar. This trick took care of that, thanks! |
