Do These Drivers Work for Anyone?
Authored by: dbeltram on Sep 24, '02 12:49:36PM

I saw a note on xlr8yourmac last week about the new QUE drivers, and was very excited to try them out. Alas, they didn't work for me -- inserting a blank cd-r just caused the finder to freeze.

So, are these drivers actually working for anyone? If so, what model of QUE burner do you have? Just wondering -- I'd like to get mine working if possible.

I have successfully burned a data CD at 2x speed with Toast using this driver. Reading CDs is no problem either, haven\'t tried Disc Burner.

Forgot to mention: I'm using the original Que! drive with the Mitsumi CR 4802.

Works great. Had to power cycle the burner after the install and before Toast would see it. Successful at 4x burns. Thank you Cypress. Almost went out and bought a Sony.

My QUE burns 3 times as fast with the Cypress driver than it ever did. Kudos to Cypress and thumbs down to QPS for outdated links and a general lack of support.
Thanks to whoever posted the info.

Using Jaguar 10.2.1 (Rocks!) , Toast 5.1.2, Mitsumi CR4802TE -USB (Que 4x2x8) on a Beige G3 266. Successful playlist burns with iTunes 3.01. Yes, I know I need a new Mac.

Downloaded Backup 1.2(2G2) from my .Mac account and am able to burn (slow) and restore, even though Apple indicates your burner must be Apple internal. Disk burner through the Finder recognized the disk and allowed me to mount it and burn as well. Kewl!!!! As far as I can tell everything I could want to burn and each different method works well.
