When I used Linux, I used Gnome Card for my address book. I have a lot of them in Gnome Card format. I looked at the file and saw that they were standard vcards, so I tried to import them into Address Book using the import menu option. I first renamed the file to address.vcf and then tried to import it. But it would just crash Address Book.
Then, from a shell, I just typed "open address.vcf" and it imported all the cards right into Address Book. All set. I have no idea how I figured that out.
