If you control-click (or right-click if you're multi-buttoned) in the Mail.app drawer,a contextual menu pops up with a number of choices. Although these items all have menubar equivalents, they're not all consolidated into one menu as they are in the pop-up.
One of the handy choices is "Use Small Mailbox Icons," to reduce the size of the large icons used by default in 10.2's Mail application. You can also easily edit account settings, check your email in just one account, or empty deleted messages from the trash. Not much of a hint, although handy if you have more than a few accounts and folders to manage.
