Add American holidays to iCal Apps
Here's a calendar of common holidays (U.S.-centric, non-religous except for Christmas) for use with iCal. To use it you can either:
  • Save it to you hard disk and import it (via File -> Import...)
  • Subscribe to it at the above url (via Calendar -> Subscribe...)
Note that if you subscribe, you won't be able to add or delete any holidays.

Although I enjoyed writing the little Python script to generate this calendar, it seems that Apple has already provided this (and much more). Check out iCal - Library for holidays, movie releases, sports team schedules and more...

You are aware, I hope, of Apple's very extensive library of holidays?

Apple's Calendar Page

Apple has a page that offers the same thing, as well as a few other calendars. I imported your calendar and it had some mistakes/errors. (IE: Thanksgiving and Halloween both showed up on the 31st of October). Apple's page is available here
