Change the color of the Item Info text Desktop
Here's how to change the color of the Item Info (View -> View Options -> check Show Item Info)) text in 10.2.

This is a pretty simple edit. Required: ThemePark and a copy of the Extras.rsrc file located in System -> Library -> Frameworks -> Carbon.framework -> Versions -> A -> Frameworks -> HIToolbox.frameworks/Resources. Make a copy by option-dragging it to the desktop.

Open the copy of Extras.rsrc in Themepark and select clr# (384); edit the last color which is the original light blue. Click on it and change the color to any color you want. Then save and close the program.

Either login as root or reboot in OS9 and replace the old Extras.rsrc with the new edited Extras.rsrc. Restart or login. That is it. It is that simple.

Does Not Work Correctly

I changed the light blue to a 50% grey instead (in the Extras.rsrc file). When I rebooted, the light blue colir in the Finder application was not grey, but just dark blue.

Does Not Work Correctly
Authored by: igropius on Sep 12, '02 12:43:31AM

HI,

I just edited the Extras file, and changed it to a 50% grey, so I know it works with b & w as well as color. Check the Extras.rsrc, and make sure that your color is set. Also, if you're using the Color wheel in themepark, make sure that you place the color selection on white, then lower the gradation.

I have had some difficulties using thempark to change the colors, and sometimes it does not save the changes I've made. The only work around that I've found, is instead of saving via the menu, close the window and save via the dialog sheet.

Hope this helps.
