Set up an HP 2500CM inkjet printer with OS X 10.2 System
Here is how to get your HP 2500CM color inkjet printer to work with OS X 10.2.
  1. Open Print Center and add the 2500CM printer using the HP Business Inkjet 2600PS profile (which is included with OS X 10.2)

  2. In any application, select Page Setup, and use these settings:
    • Format For: HP 2500 CM Pro
    • Paper Size: select your paper size (up to 13x19)

  3. Then, in any application, select Print and use these settings:
    • Duplex: duplexing option should be OFF
    • Paper Feed: Auto Select
    • Color Options: CMYK Inks = SWOP Emulation
    • Image Quality: Image Quality = Best
    • Printer Features: Media Type = select your media type
Settings not mentioned can be set any way you choose. Other settings may also work, so please experiment!
PLEASE NOTE: It is very important to set the Page Setup settings correctly! Otherwise, your prints will look low-res and washed-out (even if all the settings in the Print dialog box are set correctly).

Our HP 2500 uses paper up to 36 inches wide. Are you saying we can no longer use more than 19 inches of that? (Or worse: 13.)

The instructions above are for the 2500CM printer, which uses paper up to 13" x 19". You can probably get your printer to work by using a profile for a larger printer. Try one of the design jet profiles. Good luck!
