Change PC card status in 10.2 menubar System
When a PC Card is inserted into a laptop running Mac OS X 10.2, a new menu item appears that allows you to power off the card. This might be useful in situations where transmitters aren't alowed such as airplanes, or when you want to conserve battery power.

The PC Card menu item also displays the name and manufacturer of the card.

I found the folder called Menu extras in
/System/Library/Core Services/Menu Extras along with a number of other menu extras.

I use a Linksys wireless card with my lombard and this menu extra does not show up.
Also an Adaptec firewire card does not work either.

But, I am generally having a problem with PC cards in 10.2 in that 2/3 cards that worked in 10.1.5 don't work in 10.2
