Extract images from TextEdit documents Desktop
I don't know if this has been posted yet, but I opened a document in 10.2's TextEdit which contained some screenshots. I double-clicked on one of the images, and it opened that image in Preview. From there, I could export it as a TIFF or any other option available from the "Format" pop-up on the File -> Export menu.

[Editor's note: If you're testing this, it will not work on a newly created document; it must be saved first and then the double-click will launch Preview.]
