Rename printers in 10.2

To rename a printer, open Print Center (in /Applications -> Utilities) and select the printer. Then select Printer -> Show Info (or hit command-I), which opens a Printer Info window. From there, you can change the printer's name, PPD file, etc. Note that only "local" printers can be renamed.

[Editor's note: I used this method to rename our Brother laser printer, which 10.2 had insisted on naming with "... on 192.168.1.102" after the name I had given it. I changed it back to just its original name, and (as expected) it still prints just fine.]
