Interesting Airport feature when joining new network Network
This isn't as much a hint as a "Wow, that's cool!" If you move from one Airport network to another, and your machine joins automatically (because it has been there before, I guess), then a little notification appears in the top menubar beside the Airport signal strength indicator. The indicator "scrolls" sideways, marquee fashion, three times and then disappears. VERY neat.

The dial-up icon does this too.

It actually does this for any message - if the AirPort is dialling/disconnect via modem/joining a network/etc. It also has the option to display the connect time which I'm finding very useful.

I'm not so sure I like this; perhaps I'm paranoid. I created a closed network to keep people from seeing the name of my network. Does this new feature make it easier for war-drivers to get at my network or does it only display the name of the joined network if you've already got access? Please don't quote me the plethura of information on how insecure 802.11b is. I'm already aware.
