The previously published hint Use CUPS to print to any PostScript Printer describes how to install unsupported postscript printers into the Mac OS X 10.2 printing system.

Assuming you have already set up a PostScript printer in Print Center, you now have two easy ways to print plain PostScript files:

  1. Drag a postscript file into the Print Center job window for your postscript printer.

  2. From the command line, just type lpr filename to send the PostScript file to the default printer.
More detailed instructions can be found in the Software Users Manual for CUPS, which is included in every 10.2 system.
