Python and ruby included in 10.2 UNIX
I did a clean install of Jaguar and discovered that the programming languages python (version 2.2) and ruby (version 1.6.7) are now included!

[Editor's note: The presence of Python allowed me to finally install and successfully test the Remote Wakeup hint, as I'd never installed Python on 10.1. There are apparently many new goodies installed with 10.2 -- I noticed that 'screen' is now installed in /usr/bin, and I know I didn't put it there!]

Along with Python and Ruby, 10.2 included Tcl, but no Tk. Which also means that Python's interface to Tk, the Tkinter module, doesn't work. I've played with building Python 2.3aX, and it doesn't completely work yet, but there is good news. In 2.3, there will be a Python IDE that doesn't depend on Tk and there are other people working on a project called Pyobjc, which will let Python programs call Objective C functions.

I can hardly wait!
