Copy VCDs to MPEG for portable viewing Apps
Nathan Sturtevant has written a nice program to rip MPEG files from VCD's. I found it much more practical than other tools. He has also written a freeware VCD player for OSX. You can find information on both programs on his VCD info page

In addition to supporting VCD's, you can also copy the files off of most SVCD's as well...you'll need a program like VLC (Video Lan Client) to view SVCD data files, though.

I just released version 1.1 of VCD Copy X yesterday.

Best of all, these are totally *free* solutions. :)
