mySQL permissions error after 10.1.5 update UNIX
I had an odd MySQL problem when I installed the 10.1.5 update. One of my databases was giving me this error when I tried to select it:
 mysql> use dbname
Can't read dir of './dbname/' (Errcode: 13)
Database changed
It turns out that the permissions for the database were somehow changed. To correct it, enter the following in the Terminal:
 %cd /usr/local/mysql/data/
% sudo chmod u=rwx,g=rx,o= dbname
Replace dbname with the name of the database, and you'll need to be an Admin user to execute the command 'sudo' command. That should clear everything up.

mysql: command not found
Authored by: interneth on Nov 19, '02 05:18:42AM

I recently updated the mysql-pkg (3.23.51). As a result cannot open it in the terminal anymore. It says (wherever I try to open it, I know how to cd .. etc.).:mysql: command not found.
I'm a beginner in both mysql and Unix, but I had this all working when working under 10.1.5 and previous pkg's of mysql. No clue what to do. Thanks for help.
Paul
