I had never noticed it before, but in Internet Explorer if you press the F5 key, it will refresh the current page. A lot of 'keyboard-only' users might find this tips useful. F5 is a common Windows shortcut to refresh any kind of data.
Note: I have not tried this with an old classic Internet Explorer version, but it probably does the same thing.

In Windows, hitting F5 refreshes any Explorer screen...whether it's Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer (for listing drive contents), etc.

Backspace also go back a page, like hitting the back button in the browser.

Also does the trick. And I believe that works with most browsers. I know it does with Mozilla

Then again, Command-R is a menu item shortcut. So of course it works. The point here is F5 isn't documented, nor is it a menu item key shortcut.
