Junkbuster and iTunes streaming Apps
If you're using the Internet Junkuster Proxy, you may be experiencing trouble connecting to MP3 streams in iTunes.

The problem is that Junkbuster rewrites the user-agent field in http request headers. This behavior can be changed by editing the Junbuster configuration file. Depending on your configuration this could be located at /etc/junkbuster/config or (if installed via fink) /sw/etc/junkbuster/junkbstr.ini.

To fix the problem, simply uncomment the line:
#user-agent .
or add it if it isn't already there (note that there's a period on the line!).

[Editor's note: I haven't used Junkbuster, so I can't comment on this hint's effectiveness.]

How To Run It?
Authored by: macsforever2000 on May 24, '02 09:28:10AM

I went to the site and they claim there is no Mac version of Junkbuster. They do have a Unix version, so it should work well for X.

Can someone give pointers on how to compile and run it for X?

Download the tar archive.
Open up a new Terminal window and cd into the new folder.
Type ./configure (or some variant of this. Some use ./config, ./Configure, etc)
After that step, type make. Take a break, this may take a while.
Once the make finishes, type sudo make install
After that finishes, type rehash to refresh the shell's available programs.
