Transfer Windows Outlook email to Entourage Apps
Microsoft does not provide an easy way to transfer your Inbox in Outlook from Windows to Mac. Their knowledge base even claims that it can't be done. If you have some patience, there is a way.

Backup your outlook.pst before beginning. Use an existing IMAP mail account or get a free Hotmail Account. Logon to the account in Outlook for Windows. Drag any messages and/or folders into the IMAP account. Keep in mind they will be moved, not copied.

Now just login to the account from Entourage and drag the folders into the default Inbox. You can delete them off the server when you are finished, or hold on to them for posterity.

If you have a lot of messages this can take some time, but it's worth it if you want to keep your old messages and folders. If you want to restore the messages back into Outlook, just overwrite the outlook.pst with the backup you created.

Forward also works

I selected all msgs in a folder in outlook, and clicked on forward.

In entourage the msgs come in as attachments in one msg.
Then you can drag the enclosed msgs to a folder.

On WIndows, use Netscape Communicator or Netscape 6 to import from Outlook 95/98/2000 to a Netscape Mail folder - The default is "Outlook Mail".

Locate the Netscape Mail directory. You should be able to find a file "Outlook Mail" and a folder "Outlook Mail.sbd". The imported mail reside in the "Outlook Mail.sbd" folder. Transfer this folder to Mac OS.

On Mac OS, use a utility to change the Creator/Type of each file in the "Outlook Mail.sbd" folder to ttxt/TEXT.

Open Entourage and Import from the text files using the File/Import... menu. The imported Netscape mailbox should appear in the Entourage folder list.

Note that if you import a mailbox who name conflicts with an existing Entourage folder, a number will be appended to the mailbox name.

Hope this helps.
