Help me improve macosxhints.com... Site News
As I prepare to upgrade to the newest version of the Geeklog engine, I thought I'd take a few minutes to ask the readers what they like and don't like about the current site and gather some feedback on a few new features I'm considering.

I've put a quick survey online to help answer these questions - I promise it won't take more than a minute or two to complete (only nine questions), but the feedback will be very valuable. As I look to make the 'second generation' of macosxhints even more useful to all of the readers, it will be very helpful to know what you do and do not like and what features you'd most like to see added.

So please, take a couple minutes and complete the survey. The data you provide is completely anonymous, you don't have to be registered to complete the form, and the more responses I receive, the better I'll be able to judge what changes need to be made here. The data you provide will strictly be used to improve the site; this is not some exercise to collect stats for a third-party!

Thanks in advance for the feedback!

I finally sent in a donation to OSXHints.com today.

The Amazon.com donation thingy is kind of wanky, but the PayPal thing was quick and easy.

Come on you slags, donate $10-$20, it'll only take a minute.

have you considered scoop?

scoop is what's running k5. I was wondering if you had considered using it to alleviate problems of you being out of town, not updating until late in the day, etc.

If not, I still love the page. Thanks!

Later this week...
Authored by: robg on Feb 19, '02 03:12:12PM

After the survey wraps up later this week, I intend to post a summary of the results, along with some answers to questions that are already popping up repeatedly in the open comments text box ("Why GeekLog", "Why not use Slash?").

There have been nearly 400 responses so far, which is great -- but it's still less than 10% of the registered user base. So if you want your opinion heard, please take a couple minutes and fill out the survey!

Colour

Brilliant site - just a couple of things re aesthetics:

1 - "Blue & Green should not be seen without a colour in-between." They just look bad when used together.

2 - re-do the JPEG "macosxhints" banner with a less lossy JPEG compression
