[Editor's note: They are updating the list at least occasionally. My Canon PowerShot now shows up, but it wasn't there when I bought the camera a month or so ago.]

Even though Apple's compatibility list does not include _any_ Pentax camera, I can tell you it works fine with my EI 200. I held off downloading iPhoto for quite a while because my camera wasn't on the list! Even tho' Apple _says_ the list is updated regularly, I've seen no change lately.

For whatever it's worth any USB device that uses the USB Mass Storage protocol does not require any special drivers to work with OS 9 or 10. Many cameras use the USB Mass Storage protocls, so they should work with OS 9 or 10 whether they are on the compatibility list or not. This also is true of any of the SmartMedia or SmartFlash card readers. I have a Smart Disk SmartMedia reader that works quite well with OS 10 without any special drivers.
anyone using PENTAX Optio S5z?
I am thinking about dropping email to both Pentax and Apple about this. |
