Bah
I love the OSX shadows! Beautiful on my 17" LCD. Wouldn't want to turn them off.
WindowShade
Some people report speedups on their systems when shadows are off. Not really noticable for my G4 though.
More importantly...
when this is functioning it is very difficult to make sense of the screen - Aqua windows depend on drop shadows to define their edges. It's looks and works horrendously with the shadows gone. I don't get it in any case - OS X 10.1 is fast as is, even on my lowly 366 MHz year 2000 iBook.
Shadowless palettes
The only thing I want to see without the shadows are program palettes. I really hate to see those shadows behind FreeHand palettes. It looks so weird and cluttered. I don't mind the shadows on regular windows though.
Shadowless palettes
I wonder if ShadowKiller could identify a palette window by whatever the equivalent of the WDEF variation code is in X, and selectively remove the shadow? |
