Pop-up folder substitute Desktop
Here's a substitue for pop-up folders. It works best with Finder windows, but can be applied for others.Take a window, resize it to a small size but so that you can still see the name of the window, and drag it to the bottom on the screen (should only see the title bar). Now hitting zoom will reveal the window in full. Hitting zoom again will return the window to the bottom of the screen. This is easier to use when the dock is is located on the side of the screen. Enjoy.

Zoom (Shortcut?)
Authored by: osxe on Sep 29, '01 11:41:20PM

Hey I like the Zoom window alot, never used it before but it appears to make the window full screen. Great (even tho I am using 1152x870 res on 17" monitor.)

However the zoom (full screen window) function would be more convenient if there was a shortcut. And it'd be way cool if the green button actually made the window 'zoom' full screen or if not, an additional button to the current 3.

Also I do like the genie effect but sometime times when I want a quick (and familiar way to) view what's underneath I do miss the minimize/collapse window (leaving the title bar visible) from OS 9 without the window actually moving position.
