Haven't seen it before, found it somewhere:

On the new Pro keyboard try control-eject, you have a fast way to restart or shut down your Mac.

Press ctrl+alt+command+eject - the systems shuts down and the computer turns itself off.

Try Apple(command), Control, and F12(Eject) on the external keyboard to restart--works great!

This start up keyboard command does not work on my fall 2000 - 400 iMac DV. I tried other variations of keys but still no luck, I suspect its because the on button is within fingers reach.

the cntrl-F12, etc. provide the same functionality on my ibook500, too…tho, not very useful with the 'power' button 1/4" further up and not requiring any modifier.
