If you paste pictures into your Address Book, and then receive an email from someone with an address book picture, that image shows up with the email - quite nifty! You get the images into the address book by dragging the file containing the image into the right-hand square on the Edit screen of the Address book.

Use Grab for Getting Picture
I found that GRAB in Applications/Utilities folder works great for cutting the picture. Just open the picture with Preview and open Grab. From the Capture menu choose Selection. Select the face, or whatever you want (Mail recommends a 64x64 size pic) using this tool, it even shows you the dimensions as you select, and after you select it a .tiff file is created. Save it to the desktop and then drag it into the Address Book program and then delete the file on the desktop. It is kind of cool because when you receive an e-mail from that person, their picture comes up in the header.
