An AppleScript iTunes OS X alarm clock Apps
The MacNN boards are always interesting, to say the least. This thread discusses using your OS X box, in conjunction with cron and an Applescript or a shell script, to launch iTunes and play an MP3 at a certain hour each day.

I'm all for the integration of technology, but I think I'll stick to the old clock radio for early-morning wakeup duties! Still, it's an interesting article on what you can do with OS X...

It's about time Apple provided a way to set an alarm clock without using 3rd party software. And what ever happened to the Alarm clock DA? I haven't seen it since System 7! (man, they used to call it System and not MacOS? that was eons ago :)

it's a little lengthy, but it works fairly well. Plays an mp3 from your playlist, and continues playing until you get out of bed to stop it ;-)
