Rather than launching the System Preferences application and then clicking the desired icons it is possible to double-click the individual panes as items.

Hint Options
Startup Disk
Good hint, but did anyone else have a problem with the startup disk pref? After I opened it from /System/Library/Preferences/StartupDisk.preference, It would no longer open up at all. I finally re-installed just that pref from another OS X system, and that seemed to work, as long as I didn't open it again through the finder. Anyone else have this problem? Very dangerous problem, I went 3 days without printing! :)
Cool
This is pretty cool. I didn't try StartupDisk.preference but the others worked fine! Unfortunately you can only drag them into the right hand side of the dock and they all have a cheesy checkbox icon. You can open them up using "Show Package Contents..." and get to a tiff file but it is only inone size so not much good for making an icon. You can also get at all the nib files which is cool! I found out where that delicious iTools graphic was hiding but I have no idea how to get it out of the nib file! |
